Can't help think this lad is going to miss out on some valuable lessons in life, like how to snag a wag, where to get the best tattoos, which are the best night clubs to be seen in and most importantly how to screw your Club for the most money.

Poor lad, he might get a good education, but he will never be able to call himself a 'Proper' footballer, by Premier League standards. I wish him well.

What about all of the football service industries that will suffer if young footballers go abroad? Tattoo Parlours, betting shops, Casinos, lap dancing clubs and VIP Nightclubs will collapse if this spreads. The tabloids "honey traps" could become a thing of the past! How will surgically enhanced young girls find extra-marital partners or threesomes? His agent (does he have one?) should be fired!

Danke @Barfly für den Link. Ein wirklich außergewöhnlicher junger Engländer, der Wert auf eine gute Ausbildung neben dem Fußball legt und dafür sogar ins feindliche Ausland geht...

Hallo

unter dem 2. Link findet sich auch ein interessanter Kommentar:
Glenn Harris
I used to work at an international investment bank, and at one point former governor of the Bank of England Mervyn King came to do a talk. After speaking about all the expected things someone asked him about Villa and by extension his thoughts of English football, and he had some strikingly similar and very interesting things to say.
Apparently he was at the South Africa World Cup, and before England and Germany played each other they both visited a nature reserve on subsequent days and King was present for both. The German players all engaged with the event, listening to the facts about the animals, identified birds and things like that. The England players however almost entirely ignored everything, most of whom didn't even take their headphones off and generally couldn't wait to leave.
King said that this inability to take in and enjoy or at least appreciate everything off the pitch which comes with major tournaments away from home is a major reason for their inability to turn up on the pitch.
This story has always stuck with me, particularly during major failures, and it is very interesting to see it backed up by another account.
