Immerhin: 69 Prozent ahnen offenbar, wohin die Reise geht.
69 % der
befragten Briten!
...
Brimborium, Personenkult...?Wie im Artikel von Local Zero erwähnt:
Britain has great scientists and universities, some of the world’s best media (as well as some of its worst)
Da nimmt man unbezahlte Freizeit. Dort gelten zudem etwas strengere Regeln m.W. beim Alter, wann man Kinder daheim unaufbesichtigt lassen darf.
Canadian social services organizations advise that children under 12 years should not be left at home alone. Policy and advocacy efforts should provide accurate information and support to caregivers and children. Also heißt es vielerorts, am Montag wieder mal (unbezahlt) freizunehmen:
‘You’re on your own’: Working parents scrambling after schools closed to honour Queen
Workers are scrambling to find last-minute child care across much of Canada after governments announced the sudden closure of schools to mourn Queen Elizabeth.
The four Atlantic provinces, British Columbia and Yukon all declared Monday a holiday for provincial and territorial public-sector employees, including teachers and school staff.
Yet most private-sector businesses will remain open, leaving many workers struggling to find child care or in some cases taking the day off unpaid.

Zwei von mir seit Jahren sehr geschätzte Inselbewohner aus Vancouver Island, B.C. denken aktuell
über die Monarchie so:
P.
If only she were the last of the royals and the world ceased accepting that the luck of birth bestows privilege that others are bound by. It has to end. The best we can actually do for now is remember that all of us are born equal. Each race. Each gender. Each human being regardless of heritage.....

British royalty has evolved into nothing more than romantic entertainment. The Queen made it a point to stay completely out of politics. Hopefully King Charles will do the same.
I find the amount of decadence around the British royalty to be nothing short of amazing.

‘I cannot mourn’: Former colonies conflicted over the queen AP September 11, 2022https://apnews.com/article/king-charles-iii-africa-caribbean-slavery-50f9175b541f307adb2e494fcccc80f5“I do not think we have any place for kings and queens in today’s world, because we are the world’s largest democratic country,” said Dhiren Singh, a 57-year-old entrepreneur in New Delhi.
There was some sympathy for the Elizabeth and the circumstances she was born under and then thrust into.
In Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, resident Max Kahindi remembered the Mau Mau rebellion “with a lot of bitterness” and recalled how some elders were detained or killed. But he said the queen was “a very young lady” then, and he believes someone else likely was running British affairs.
“We cannot blame the queen for all the sufferings that we had at that particular time,” Kahindi said.
