T.C. Boyle: Habe ich. Sie ist ausschließlich dazu da, Dinge im Haus zu jagen, wie Ratten und Kakerlaken.
taz: Kamala Harris hat kürzlich zugegeben, dass sie eine Waffe hat und einen Einbrecher erschießen würde. Wie finden Sie das?
Boyle: Da ich nicht die Absicht habe, in ihr Haus einzubrechen – ich weiß nicht einmal, wo sie wohnt –, ist das für mich in Ordnung. Ich bin der Meinung, dass ihr Waffenbesitz sie dazu qualifiziert, sich zu diesem Thema sachkundig zu äußern. Interessant ist, dass ihr Gegner im Präsidentschaftswahlkampf seine Waffen abgeben musste, weil er ein verurteilter Verbrecher ist.

T-Shirts mit putzigen Rehen drauf, die hoffentlich nicht gejagt werden (sah in letzter Zeit aber etliche mitten auf dem Highway No. 1 liegen samt plattgefahrenen Racoons), waren passender. Somehow, we have a minority that doesn’t have the power to differentiate between Israel and the government of Israel. So you are against Israel. Are you against hundreds of thousands of people who are going out to the street regularly because they want to end the war? Are you against them?
