Hatte mich wieder an diese Darbietung erinnert. Die letzten 48 Stunden zeigten wieder mal deutlich auf:

Bob Dylans „With God on Our Side“ bleibt eine eindringliche Kritik daran, wie nationalistischer Eifer manipuliert werden kann, um Kriege zu rechtfertigen. Das Lied untersucht kritisch die Instrumentalisierung von Glauben und Nationalismus zur Rechtfertigung von Kriegen. Durch Liedtexte, die bedeutende und oft düstere Kapitel der amerikanischen Geschichte behandeln, verdeutlicht Dylan die gefährliche Ausnutzung religiöser und nationalistischer Begeisterung im Namen angeblich gerechter Kriege.
